Liver
is the largest internal organ in the body and is located
in the right upper quadrant of the abdomen, immediately
under the diaphragm. It is known as ‘headquarter’
of metabolism in the body. The liver processes everything
a person consumes and is connected with several functions.
It cleanses the blood, regulates supply of glucose
(energy); manufactures many essential proteins; produces
bile which eliminates toxic substances; regulates
the balance of many hormones ;develops body resistance
to infections etc. the malfunctioning of liver leads
to loss of appetite, fatigue, exhaustion, nausea,
weakness, lowers resistance to infection etc. |
