Being
a significant part of body, presences of growth of
hair make biological necessity. Hair grows from follicles,
called hair roots located at the bottom of the layer
of skin beneath the epidermis, which is associated
with blood vessels, nerves, sebaceous glands. The
colour of hair is determined by the presence of a
pigments called melanin, which is found in different
proportions in individuals depending upon the genetic
and climatic factors. The average rate of growth of
hair is about 1 inch in 6 weeks and it grows to 2-3
feet in length in about 4 years. |
